Lead Worshipper of Music

Mark has been a resident of Upatoi, GA since he and his wife Paula and their three children moved here in 1984. They became members of Upatoi Baptist about a year later and Mark started leading the choir and congregational worship about a year after that.

He has been involved in church music since his early teen years at Britt David Baptist, in Columbus, GA, singing in the Youth and Adult choirs and, at the age of 16, joined a local Southern Gospel group, The Good News Singers, singing baritone and playing drums for six years.

His passion now as lead worshipper, is to blend hymns and contemporary songs with help from the UBC Praise Team and Celebration Choir, and thus set the stage for dynamic worship with music.

Mark is an ordained deacon and teaches one of UBC’s Adult Sunday School classes. During the week, Mark works as a preventive maintenance contractor with a division of National Cash Register.
